Highlight: The oldest NHE department of the University (set up in 1984)

Under UGCF-2022 based on NEP 2020, the department was offering B.A. Programme with Nutrition and Health Education (NHE). However, with effect from 2026 session, it will be offering B.A. Programme with Community Science. It also offers Skill enhancement Courses (SECs) approved by the University. The department has one temporary lab at present and a fully equipped lab will soon be available.

The courses of study in Community Science and their scope will be notified on DU website.

NHE Association-Nutricore-celebrates Poshan Maah every year and organizes lectures/ camps to spread awareness about nutrition and health.
