Dr. Pooja Khanna
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires” –William Arthur Ward
My name is Dr Pooja Khanna, and I am a seasoned academician with a specialisation in the field of Economics, having 20+ years of teaching experience with the undergraduate students. I have been an active academic speaker at public forums. I have also had several of my articles published in national and international journals. In addition to my research pursuits, I have been actively involved in mentoring undergraduate students undertaking research projects.
Over the course of my teaching tenure, I have witnessed a significant transformation in the dynamics of the teaching-learning process, particularly in the evolving role of an educator. Although the traditional emphasis on academic development is still important, a more comprehensive approach is required in the educational environment today. In response to this shift, I have made a concerted effort to support a comprehensive educational experience by implementing interactive activities and group projects, counselling pupils, and using diversified teaching strategies.
I believe that, as a teacher and mentor, my primary responsibility is to develop and bring out the each of my students' individual characteristics. My experience in a variety of administrative roles during my tenure in service, such as, Convener- Placement Cell and Convener- Women’s Development Cell; serves as an example of this conviction. Under my supervision and guidance as the head of the department, students conducted the first ever MUN conference in the college with participation of over 3000 delegates from across the country. I am extremely grateful to our principal, Prof. Savita Roy who has been a solid support in achieving our teaching and extracurricular endeavors. Her guidance and encouragement have made a significant difference in our success and growth.
