Dr. R Ahalya
Dr. R. Ahalya is an economist and empirical researcher, holding a doctorate in Economics from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She has published several papers in Scopus Indexed and other prestigious journals. She has also presented many papers in international conferences. She has previously worked an Assistant Professor (on contractual and guest basis) at Bhagini Nivedita College, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Sri Aurobindo College, and Ambedkar University, Delhi. She has also worked as a teaching assistant for several years at IIT Delhi, contributing to the academic and administrative activities at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Delhi. Her major areas of academic interest include Development Economics, Political Economy, and Macroeconomics. She is currently focused on interdisciplinary research, and application of innovative tools to further research and learning. She has been teaching a variety of papers, and mentoring students for research projects. She has also been consistently upgrading her skills through Faculty Development Programs and workshops. Dr. Ahalya is also actively involved in various committees and societies in the college, working for the upliftment of the college. Further, she has organized and worked as a resource person in conducting skill development programs in the college. Her future plans include taking initiatives to reform the current curriculum and learning environment, and to explore new research projects for the college.
