Dr. Kamna Vimal

Recently felicitated with the Outstanding Paper Presenter Award 2023 by the Institute of Advanced Sciences, USA, Council of Indic Studies and Research, and Maitreyi College, DU, I have also received the Rashtriya Sahitya Shiromani Samman in 2019, the prestigious Sanskrit Samaradhaka Samman four times from Delhi Sanskrit Academy for my contribution in promotion of Sanskrit, three Certificates of Merit and Pratibha Puraskara from Delhi Sanskrit Academy for my academic excellence, and Letters of Appreciation twice from the Department of Sanskrit, University of Delhi, and once from ISH, DU.

With an M. Phil. and Ph. D. from University of Delhi in Sanskrit Grammar, I have cleared UGC NET in Sanskrit twice. Besides, I also have post-graduation in English and have qualified UGC NET in English also. I have completed a minor research project under FRP, IoE, UGC on Manuscripts of Nirukta and am leading the NAVDHARA project on Ancient Ayurvedic Interventions for curing lifestyle disorders with special reference to Myopia. I am supervisor to two research scholars pursuing Ph.D. in Sanskrit Grammar from University of Delhi.

Over the span of about fifteen years of my teaching experience, I have performed various administrative responsibilities in College and University Department:

  • Member, Syllabus Formation Committee (4 Year UG Programme, GGSIP, New Delhi)
  • Member, DU VAC Committee (Courses on Gita)
  • Member, Syllabus Formation and Review Committee (LOCF and UGCF, UG and PG Courses, Department of Sanskrit, DU)
  • Member, Secrecy and Moderation Committee, Department of Sanskrit, DU (for two years)
  • Coordinator, FIP, FDPs and Refresher Courses (organized by the College in collaboration with GAD TLC/MMTTC)
  • Convener of Debating Society and Cyber Cell
  • Co-Convenor, Information Bulletin Committee, B.A. (Programme) and Cyber Cell
  • Editor-in-Chief of the college magazine Pramila
  • Editor, Shreshtha, WDC (two years)
  • Teacher In-Charge, etc.

With two books published in the field of Sanskrit Grammar and Linguistics, I have 28 research papers and articles published in national and international UGC Care-listed and Peer-reviewed journals of high repute, including Springer Nature, and have contributed twelve chapters for the Department of Continuing Education, SOL, DU, and IGNOU. I am also on the Editorial Board of the Multi-disciplinary Half-yearly International Peer-reviewed Journal Shikshapriyadarshini, Prof. Shashi Tiwari Felicitation Volume and WAVES, and on the Reviewer Board of the Social Research Foundation.

I have presented more than 42 research papers at various national and international seminars and conferences as presenter, invited speaker, or resource person, have convened/coordinated about 45 national and international events, and have participated in 54 workshops, symposiums, FDPs, etc.
