Dr. Hemandra Kumar Tiwari

I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. I earned my Ph.D. in 2011 from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, where my doctoral research focused on the synthesis and characterization of peptidomimetic small molecules as potential antimalarial agents. Shortly after, I joined the esteemed research group of Professor B.K. Singh at Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi, dedicating my efforts to the development of microwave-assisted peptidomimetic synthesis and innovative multicomponent intramolecular strategies. My research has been published in several reputed journals, and in 2014, I also mentored a DST-sponsored project with Professor B. Rupini at IGNOU.

Earlier in my career, I gained valuable experience at the National Institute of Malaria Research, where I worked from 2007 to 2009, acquiring expertise in the biochemistry and parasitology of Plasmodium falciparum, as well as in drug design, protein expression, and enzyme kinetics. I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse array of chemistry courses—including biosciences and organic chemistry—at various academic institutions. I also held the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Kano University of Science & Technology, Nigeria, from 2016 to 2017. With a strong passion for mentoring and a deep belief in interdisciplinary research, I remain committed to nurturing the next generation of scientists.
