Entrepreneurship and Innovation: StartUp Cell (EISC)

Udyam,  Entrepreneurship  and  Innovation:  Start-Up  Cell  (EISC)  aims  to  assist  students  in achieving their entrepreneurial dreams as well as inculcate in them a business friendly mindset. The cell under the aegis of Innovation Council, Ministry of Education conducts various seminars, sessions,  and  student interactions to  equip  students  with  the  know-how  of  modern entrepreneurship. In the past the cell has conducted sessions on showcasing business opportunities in varied fields such as nutrition, food and gardening to students of all courses. EISC is a humble attempt to inspire students to leverage their innate creativity to create value for the society. The students under EISC have designed, procured, marketed and sold products like soaps, paintings, tote bags and photo frames without any loss which is a remarkable achievement at such an early stage of their entrepreneurial journey.

The journey of entrepreneurship requires one to never give up. One must keep going, if not able to run then walk, if not able to walk then crawl but keep going towards the goal. The cell helps its students in inculcating this never say die attitude. On time to time, the cell invites founders of start- ups to share their experiences on their journey towards becoming successful entrepreneurs, give students insights about product market fit, concept validation, intellectual property rights etc. The cell also focuses on developing in students some specific skills like problem solving which is essential for capitalizing on various opportunities which keep presenting themselves to those with discerning eyes. The cell also collaborates with other organisations and institutions to help students to meet and learn from fellow journeymen. Students are also encouraged to participate in start-up focussed events where they can meet industry people who can provide mentoring and even seed funding.
