DAULAT RAM COLLEGE

Debating Society

The Debating Society

The debating society of Daulat Ram College is a vivacious platform that aims to provide transformative learning to students in an atmosphere of logical arguments and reverent discourse. Each member learns to express, evaluate and analyse ideas to move towards various potential solutions. Individuals acquire the best of organisational skills, teamwork, and debating abilities here through the various tournaments they organise and participate in, instilling in them the skillset of leadership qualities for a lifetime. The society trains its members to articulate the most crisp, logical and analytical arguments and deliver their thoughts persuasively and confidently in every debate. The society organises numerous events each academic year with the Daulat Ram Memorial Debate as its oldest event, with a running trophy since 1985. Other annual events include Vichaar-The Indian Youth Parliament, The Annual Parliamentary Debate in both Hindi and English, as well as Controversus-The Freshers’ Conventional Debate. The members actively win accolades in different forms of debate across India, enhancing their knowledge and passing on the necessary skills to successive batches.
