Seminars and Conferences Organised by the Department:
A Two-Day National Conference on “Holistic Yoga: H3 (Health, Harmony and Happiness” was organized in collaboration with Gandhi Smriti and DarshanSamiti, on 10th – 11th November 2017. The conference aimed to promote and build a closer relationship between theory and practice with the goal of creating awareness about the true essence of yoga. Distinguished dignitaries like, ShriShekharDutt, Former Governor of Chhattisgarh; Padamshree Shri J.S. Rajput, Educationalist and Writer were present amongst many scholars.
A National Seminar was organised on “Interface of Philosophy with various Art Forms” on March 30th -31st 2017. The purpose was to bring together academic philosophers, historians, poets, filmmakers, classical dancers, painters, actors, musicians and theatre persons in a two-day interactive dialogue to enrich all. Eminent persons belonging to various art forms and performing artists themselves were invited to share their ideas. Dr.Amarendra Khatua, DG, ICCR; Prof.Waman Kendra, Director, National School of Drama; Mr. Manish Pushkale, Eminent Painter; Guru PreranaShrimali, Kathak Exponent, Mr.Sudhir Mishra, Film Director are the prominent speakers who presented their views on the theme.
A UGC Sponsored Two-Day National Seminar was organised on “Contribution Of AcharyaAbhinavagupta: Philosophy Of Kashmir To The Overall Growth And Development Of Indian Thought” on 19th and 20th January 2017. The seminar aimed to propagate the holistic and pragmatic view of Kashmir Shaivism, to celebrate thousand years of earthly existence of AcharyaAbhinavagupt. Distinguished speakers, like, Prof. S.R. Bhatt, Chairman, ICPR; Prof.Abhiraj Rajendra Mishra, Former V.C. Sampoornanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi; Dr.Ashutosh Bhatnagar, Director, Director, Jammu and Kashmir Study Centre addressed the gathering.
An ICPR sponsored Three-Day National Conference was organised on "Exploring the Meeting Ground of Moral, Medical and Legal Aspects of Social Dilemmas in Public Interface" on 21st – 23rdOctober, 2016. The conference took an interdisciplinary approach to provide an academic platform to theoreticians and practitioners belonging to various disciplines to deliberate upon different social dilemmas. Eminent speakers, like, Honorable justice M.L. Mehta, Former Judge, Delhi High Court, Prof. S.R. Bhatt, Chairman of ICPR, Mr. Sudhir Chaudhary, Editor and Channel Head, Zee News, Prof. Kavita Sharma, Head of the Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics graced the occasion.
